“Sudhir , Dhiri to everyone, my dear friend in arms , man with the golden hockey , more to stop route No. 40 at Jantar Mantar than to fight or score in a match.
Having seen him grow from KG and to building a life from scratch in the states, I learnt from him how to be selfless. With an intimidating built he had an extremely positive personality with an open heart. Even what he eventually succumbed to could not get the better of him and him having the ability to fight it out for so long just made me realize how an extremely positive outlook towards life can help tackle anything. He ensured throughout life that he gave back be it humbleness or teaching yoga to people of his community and bringing change to multiple lives.”
“Really sad to hear the news. I hadn’t met Dhiri since school till c. 4 years back on the way back from hiking in the Rockies. The years just melted away talking to him and it certainly didn’t feel like a 40 year gap. Dhiri hadn’t changed a bit since school (except for not having a hockey stick on his shoulder !!) and meeting up with him and Neera for a meal became an annual apre hiking ritual. He of course remembered MHS and all his old friends very fondly. When we visited him in hospital last summer his spirits were sky high despite the prognosis and his smile and laugh exactly what we all remember about him. Rest in Peace Dhiri and heartfelt condolonces to the family.”
